Eco Seminar - update

The Green Energy Technology team had a great day at the Eco Seminar
hosted by IISAT and Global Home Warranties

With topics as diverse as air tightness, heat pumps, new construction methods, and wood pellet boilers - the seminar at the Seagoe Hotel had something for everyone.

Local industry experts delivered presentations on renewable energy technologies, sustainable and alternative construction technology, passive house technologies, eco-warranties & products and Sustainable Technologies training.
Green Energy Technology, in conjunction with Grant Engineering, had their exhibition unit outside - with a working model of the award winning Spira.

The Irish made Spira is one of the worlds first condensing wood pellet boilers, with fully automatic flush cleaning. Minimal involvement from the home or business owner is needed.

The speakers also presented the audience with an opportunity to question the panel. Many of the questioners commented that help is needed from Stormont to help people convert to renewables - both for new housing and, perhaps more importantly, upgrading our exisiting housing stock.

IISAT (The International Institute for Sustainable Architecture & Technology) also launched their (soon to be) BTEC accredited range of certificates, diplomas, and degrees at this event. The introduction of IISAT to the range of training services across Ireland is an exciting development. For the first time renewable technology, and sustainable design courses will be tailored towards the workplace using both classroom and hands-on methods. Alongside this, student qualifying via IISAT will be able to offer their future customers an insurance backed guarantee, and ultimately peace of mind.

The Green Energy Technology complex in Waringstown, will become one of the key training centres for IISAT in Northern Ireland.
